Turkey Stone

I would doodle on the edge of the paper, between the red line and the spiral. I would then combine these drawings with more doodle art. By the end of class, the tiny space would be full of varying art, making it difficult to distinguish between what was what. The same can be said of the art carved into this stone.

This stone’s artwork, along with most others at IndianRock.art, is a combination of different subject matters. I suppose that it makes total sense, especially when dealing with stones as the canvas. If it were me, I would stock up on stones that already had an artist quality about them. Then, I would carve my intended design, letting the stone’s natural attributes lead the way and as a distinctive feature in the finished product.

The stone in the image is a tool. Held from this position, it served for pecking. If the stone is turned slightly to the rear, as pictured, it looks like a turkey head glancing back. The left eye(right in the image) is the Ouroboros stone featured in a different post, and above there appears to be another depiction. I haven’t studied this stone in depth, but I think that I can confidently state that there is more art to be found.
